Workshops/Seminar Descriptions
The following is a list of
workshops and seminars that K&S Ministries presents around the country.
This is not an all-inclusive list, and we are open to developing
course material for a particular need you may have.
The descriptions are divided into areas dealing with puppetry,
clowning, and the creative arts in general.
Each workshop/seminar is designed for a sixty to seventy-five
minute period. We also
develop special weekend packages to train and equip church creative arts
ministry teams.
Clowning
Classic Clown Skits (Nick Frasher)
A demonstration of the classic clown skits that bring laughter and joy
to the hearts of your audience.
Come prepared to be actively involved in this workshop.
The Wonderful World
of Christian Clowning (Nick Frasher)
A brief history and overview of
the different types of Christian clowns, make-up and costumes.
Clown Character
Discovery and Development (Nick or Barbara Frasher)
Come find out what type of clown
will fit your personality.
Take your clown, mold it and develop it into an instrument to share
God’s love. Come join us as
we clown around.
“Take It To The
Streets” (Nick or Barbara Frasher)
Street ministry for the solo
clown or a group of clowns is a very rewarding experience.
Learn some routines, skits, and simple walk-a-rounds to gather
and hold a crowd at a festival, mall or picnic.

Together (Barbara Frasher)
Discover how to add puppetry to
your ministry planning.
From basic manipulation to large ministry engagements, puppetry adds so
much.
Clown
Costuming (Barbara Frasher)
You found your character, you
know what type of clown you are, but what should you look like????
See how easy it is to develop a cost-effective costume and what
materials to use and not use.
Skit Development
(Nick Frasher)
The “how to” in developing a skit
or routine for your ministry.
The word of God has references to every aspect of life, and its
meaning is easy to transform into a sketch that will impact the lives of
those to whom you are ministering.

Witnessing Through Face Painting (Barbara or Nick Frasher)
If you thought it was hard to
face paint - it isn’t. If
you thought it was hard to talk to children about Jesus - it isn’t.
This is not only a cool way to witness to children, it is fun.
This class covers basic “stamp” face painting and witnessing to
children techniques.
The
Art of Full Face Painting (Barbara Frasher)
Whether you want to present the
Gospel or raise monies for your ministry, full-face painting is a fast
growing art form. NO
special skills required.
Basic
Balloon Sculpturing Lab (Nick Frasher)
Did you want to dazzle the kids
at your next church picnic or outreach event?
Come learn some basic twists and cool sculptures.
Class limited to 25 students with a Lab fee of $3.00 paid at the
door.
Fantastic Balloon Hat Lab (Nick Frasher)
Come create some simply fantastic
hats. This is an
intermediate balloon class; you must know your basic twists.
(Balloons and pumps available for purchase at the door for $6.00
each)
“For
the Birds” Advance Balloon Lab (Nick Frasher)
This is an advance balloon lab in
which the participants will learn how to sculpture a four foot multiple
balloon Road Runner.

Puppetry/Black Light
Puppetry 101 at it’s
Best (Nick or Barbara Frasher)
This is a great seminar for
beginning puppeteers. You
will learn the basic care and operation of a puppet.
This includes proper body posture, hand position, lip sync, eye
contact, entrances and exits.
Note: This is a hands-on seminar.
If you have your puppet - bring it with you!
Beyond the Single
Arm Rod (Nick Frasher)
This advanced seminar is for
experienced puppeteers and directors.
You will discover how to bring your puppet to life through
movement, emotion, and believable actions as you develop your puppet
character. Note: This is
a hands on seminar, if you have your puppet - bring it with you!
Wacky World of
Blacklight (Nick Frasher)
This is an exciting seminar where
“coloring outside the lines” takes a fresh new meaning.
You will learn the techniques of blacklight puppetry/theatre,
types of stages, lights, puppets and props.
Note to event organizers:
This seminar requires a room that can effectively be “blacked out”.
Blacklight
Performance Workshop – part one of two (Nick and Barbara Frasher)
An awesome workshop dealing with
Blacklight Puppetry/Theatre:
For two conference periods, participants will choreograph and
practice a blacklight number.
You will present this piece at _______________ for the
conference. Due to the
choreographing, the workshop will be limited to twenty participants.
Note: All blacklight puppets, costumes, props and blacklight
outfits will be provided for this production.
Note to event organizers:
This workshop will require two blocks of seminar time.
The conference program needs to include a time slot and adequate
space for the class to perform this number during the conference.
This workshop requires a room that can effectively be “blacked
out”
Puppet Performance
Workshop – part one of two (Nick Frasher)
This workshop is for the
beginning and seasoned puppeteer of all ages.
For two conference periods, participants will choreograph and
practice a musical number.
You will present this piece at _______________ for the conference.
Due to the choreographing, the workshop will be limited to
sixteen participants.
Note: All puppets, costumes, and props will be provided for this
production.
“Tummy Twister” Blacklight Puppet Construction (Barbara Frasher)
You
will make this really cool blacklight (florescent) puppet.
Class is limited to 20 participants and the cost of materials is
$35.00 paid at the door.
Animal Puppet
Construction Lab – part one of two (Barbara Frasher)
So
you feel like you are in a Zoo, and need to be creative.
Select an animal puppet, put it together and take it home with
you. Class is limited to 15
participants and the cost of materials is $25.00 paid at the door.
“The Practice” (Nick
or Barbara Frasher)
Practice time is the most
important time you have with your team.
Discussions will include your rolls in disciplining, creating
vision for the team, covenants/policies, delegating responsibilities,
and how to successfully plan for practices.
Many useful handouts are available during this seminar.
Discipleship of a
Puppet Ministry (
Beyond organizing and managing
your puppet team, the most important part of your job is discipleship.
We will discuss how to take the art form of puppetry and use it
to equip your team in God’s word and prepare them to evangelize.
Choreographing The
Puppet Song (Nick Frasher)
How to choose the right song for
the venue in which you are going to be in ministry.
One that grabs attention and has a strong message.
We will select a piece of music,
talk about how to choreograph the number so that it has variety,
style, and impact.
How Do You Make All
Those Props???? (Nick Frasher)
One way to enhance your puppet
productions, skits or songs is through the use of props.
We will show you how to create things as simple as a prop stick,
to a confetti gun. This is
a neat hour to let your mind wonder through the hardware store, craft
store, and local dollar store and create something useful for your team.
Creative Arts in
General
Taking Your Team
to the Streets (Nick or Barbara Frasher)
Surprisingly, it’s not that hard
to move your team in a creative and evangelical ministry from the church
to the streets. Discussions
will center on programming, marketing, and the types of venues - -
subdivisions, inter-city, a crusade, or on the church grounds.
The Birth of a
Creative Arts Ministry (Nick or Barbara Frasher)
This seminar is intended to give
you additional tools and insight into starting, building, and
encouraging your team whether it is in puppetry, clowning, interpretive
movement, or other creative arts.
Learn and discuss helpful ways of building “team spirit”,
organizational methods, and much more.
